I called them yesterday around 10am because I have two channels that aren't coming through, says it can't find the satellite.
basic troubleshooting, then they agree that a tech visit is needed, and want to charge me $95 for them to schedule it.
No. especially not for two channels. But I'll be more than happy to tell my friends about the absurd charge. So they agree to waive to fee.
So the appointment gets scheduled for 12-5pm yesterday. I am home all day, mostly outside working on the car in the driveway. 6pm rolls around and I call dish and ask why no one showed. The guy explains that their system shows the tech was there at 1:58 to 2:54 working.
there was an exchange about the stupidity of that entry, and I got transferred to their "Loyalty team" who asks me why I want to leave Dish. WTF.
so now I'm doubly pissed, and explain it all over again, with the addition of why did I get transferred here.
I end the phone call with a free month of service, and a new appointment for today.
Wow. I hope they do better next time.
And this is why I have always had Direct TV....12 years and never had an issue at all.
Fapping channel not coming in?? :hide:

Directv's problem wasn't technical or customer service issues, it was adding random stuff to our bill and hoping we wouldn't notice.
Everytime I'd call them out on it, they agree to set the account so only my wife and I could make changes to the account. then a few months later, we'd be paying for some Starz Package, or Internet protection software, o some other bullshit.

I worked for those whores brielfly (approx. 6 weeks) as a contract tech writer. Believe me when I tell you they suck cold, dead, hard, blue, stiff, rigor-mortised donkey nuts. No way would I ever disgrace my roof with one of their SAT-TV dishes.

:yesnod:
I had directtv for 3 years here before the grey zone of it being legal for us became a total illegal stealing satellite go to jail type of thing.
It was the best satellite/cable system I've ever had.

:funny: :funny: Unrivaled eloquence, that is.

My OTA service is worse. I only get about 15 channels and they come in and out. I can't find a phone number for customer service, so I can't complain. If it weren't for Netflix, the TV would be useless.

So you don't like them?

You can adjust your own antenna with the signal strength meter built into the Dish box. My Dish setup only loses signal during heavy thunderstorms (rarely and only for a few minutes) that are physically between the dish and the satellite.
Expert tip! ***If your antenna looks at more than one satellite, cover all LBNs with tinfoil except the one you are adjusting.

I have to go look, but I think there are 3 LNB's on the look, and so only 2 are hooked up......trick is, how to know the sig strength settings on the box .....
didn't know I could do that, but in the nice spot my dish is setting next to the house in the back yard, hard to imagine it has moved since the install.....
