Last month Micheal Bay's production company, Platinum Dunes, announced it would be producing Almanac, from a spec script by new-comers Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan. Directing is to be first-timer Dean Israelite, using the "found footage" format.

Today sources close to the production have leaked some alleged plot details. The film will center around a nerd, son of a deceased scientist, desperate to impress a hottie, discovers the ability to time travel. He and some friends decide to take a page from the book of Biff Tannen, and travel back in time to make use of an almanac of sports statistics in gambling.

Entertainment ensues.

It's either the greatest blatant rip-off in cinema history, or there's some sort of agreement in place here.

Will be interesting to see if the Back To The Future lawyers come flying out of the woodwork on this one...

I'm not digging the Found Footage thing.

Tried to watch Apollo 18 the other night. Couldn't.

:withstupid:

It's kinda like The Blair Witch Project in all the versions I've seen it used.

I completely enjoyed Cloverfield....

This sounds like a turd though, I mean...might as well cast MJ Fox and make the time machine a Delorean...

Holy shit..i just had a groundbreaking Idea for a new movie..

Set it in the distant pass, in a distant world...where you have an evil power that is gaining more and more power, over an ever shrinking group of rebels....little do they know that their saviour is some kid...who is the long lost son of the man that is leading the evil power. You could have a hotshot pilot, a beautiful bitchy princess. Its kind of a shoestring budget rebellion, vs a well funded fully trained empire...and out of nowhere, the rebellion force pulls it off in the end, and wins.

Then you could have a 2nd movie, were the evil empire comes back and strikes a serious blow to the rebel group...

And a 3rd installment where the powers of good return, and the evil empire is vanquished...and we find that the evil leader/father...is actually not all bad, and he turns good at the last second..

Gimme a fuggin Award...

We can call it "Space Wars"....and shit.
