Yes, I know it's from the other place, but it's good.

So you didn't get jumped because "Corvette!" You got jumped because:
1. You justified parking like an old asian woman because someone else parked like an old asian woman. You could have parked correctly and let the original bad parker figure out how to get into their car. Or picked another spot.
2. Guys who aren't fans of bad parking parked next to you and hit your door, maybe on purpose, maybe by accident.
3. You verbally assaulted them (escalating the situation) and were then surprised that they didn't take kindly to the verbal assault by responding with one of a physical nature, continuing the escalation.
4. You got beat up.
5. You then threatened lives (another escalation--that's two for you and one for them) over what was, at its root, a failure to find a better parking spot.
None of this makes what they did right. But that's the thing about escalating silliness--often, nobody involved was in the right.
If anything, you should have parked elsewhere and then keyed the original bad parker's car. Preferrably in the shape of a frowny face.
Pretty much how I read that story.

Cliffs-
Guy pulls into a parking lot and there is a car parked 1/4 of the way into the next open spot, so he does the same. Comes out, a truck is in the 3/4 spot against his car, paint is chipped. Verbal confrontation ensues, followed by a physical one where he is on the losing end, pulls a gun and holds them until cops come.

(btw...its funny how all the "similar" stories people post always seem to leave out any provoking actions they might have done. LIke all of a sudden douchebags just leapt out at them from nowhere.) :)
The more I read this story the more I agree with Scissors...
You got heated because he parked too close. I'm guessing you were a d_ick about it and shot a smart ass comment which prompted his comment back. You see your door chip and "flip out" which means you started cussing them out like an a-hole. Lets not forget that paint chips and dings are covered by comprehensive insurance (assuming you have full coverage).
So fast forward...you get your ass handed to you by three dudes for being a douche about a paint chip. You pull a gun...they back down...so you go and pull a bigger gun (because what...the first gun wouldn't shoot them just as dead?). Then finally you came onto CF and posted your story as if it were in relation to you owning a C5 vs you just not handling a situation very well.
That sound about accurate?

Nope! I tried to find the story online, figured there would at least be a police log of it in the local st. pete papers, but found nothing. I work with a story teller and this reminded me of him :slap:

Well... seems our buddy speedy is all over the auto and bike forums... Sentra, RX8, VW, Hayabusa, ZX10, SV Riders... All of a sudden he's everywhere I look, usually with a few posts. He's big into R/C speedboats too...
Edit: Wonder if he traded the Audi TT for the C5...

I started on this forum almost 12 years a go after retiring from GM... this was a wonderful community, filled with wide eyed demographics
( targeted market ) who wanted the best for their C5.. this community was like a high class neighborhood... coming back here 12 years later only to find that this high class community has deteriorated to a ghetto filled with naive, chest pounding kids or gullible adults, who believe what some Kid says.. IM a life member of the NRA, and the way some of these adolescents, both 18 years old and 50 years old, give the NRA a bad name. It saddens me to see how pathetic this forum has become. IM Not talking about the Corvette forum.. IM talking about the " New " C5 participants. When I said anyone can own a C5, its evident in the maturity, gullibility, and posturing of the participants who reside here now.

He is a civilian CSI, not a certified law enforcement officer. He could still find out though. He did ask fairly early on which agency responded - city or county. I doubt the OP answered.

Nope. Not a cop at all. CSI's at many agencies don't even carry guns as part of their jobs. I don't think he does.
