View Full Version : Winter is here
Woke up to a little snow falling. Granted we don't get much down this way in SW Indiana but when they call for 1-2 inches these folks don't know what to do. Worst than being back east with the snow.
That's one thing I miss about Michigan. Rain, snow, ice or whatever everyone still drove 80 mph. If it sprinkles here you'd think there was an inch of ice on the road the way people drive.

I notice the same when I go to Georgia.

I'm going to have to cover the Frangipani tonight.....and my strawberries!! :willy:
When we were back in VA just the thought of snow shut the schools down and emptied out the Military bases. I remember a snow back in 89 that had the place shut down for almost two weeks. I had to drive my Iroc Z up to Michigan. Once I got past Williamsburg it was smooth sailing all the way up.
It would be nice to have another white Christmas here again. The first year we moved here we had 24 inches of snow right before Christmas and by the first week in January it was all melted.

meh, I had enough snow growing up. Rather do totally without these days. It gets old by the second time the snow plow piles heaps of snow onto your freshly shoveled driveway.

We've got all the tender plants covered for the freezing temps we're supposed to have tomorrow morning.

It's what I am suffering through in my "Aussie" winter clothes. Wasn't sure if this cold weather is normal or not so a little reluctant to purchase new winter clothes just at the moment.
Balmy 25 Degrees F, wind chill of 5 deg F, blowing snow and the dogs are having a blast in it. Just walked next door to deliver some Smoked Turkey to our neighbors and about dropped the jimmies because of the wind.

If I was back in the Texas Panhandle I would once again know what winter is. Being southwest of Fort Worth now, we are lucky to see snow once a year. I can't remember the last time my hands were so cold they hurt.

Well technically not until December 21st.
17 Deg F out now with the wind blowing still. More cold and snow till Thursday. Damn weather can't make up it's mind. Oh well the "V" is tucked in the garage for a few more days.

Is this become an annual thing in Texas? :)

We had a long hard freeze last winter and my plumeria suffered badly. Yeah, winters seem to be getting worse here.
