I got that part.
I missed the part about how the company she worked for is feeling some pain from this. Any details?

We had some stupid drunk kids taking a piss on our monument to the unknown soldiers up here, and they were caught on video and charged for it. Now they put a 24-7 honour guard there. Morons are world wide. :slap:

I love how she said "We weren't disrespecting anyone, we were just being the douchebags we are."
She's smart enough to know she's a douchebag, yet not smart enough to know when she's disrespecting the memory of the fallen.
Too many people are more concerned about 'how cool will I look online?' to think about what they are actually doing. One of many reasons I have so little faith in society. :sadangel:

Someone on twitter was asking if they should lose their jobs as a result of the picture.
I said yes. The little douchebags of the world need to see that their actions have consequences and the iinternet isn't uckfing Candyland where they can shit on who/what they want with impunity.
Maybe if a few cybershits feel the weight of such consequences, the next assmunch will think twice before getting their junk out inside the Smithsonian because that would so rock their Facebook page, get like 60 likes outta that...

Ok, while I absolutely don't agree with her level of disrespect, this is still America. She didn't rob, rape, or kill anyone. Stupid.....yes, but she doesn't need to be fired either. The jury of public opinion is just that......

As far as I am concern there should be a law against showing disrespect at the place our heroes are buried, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown's. What she did just disgust me.:notfunny:

She didn't commit a crime (rob, rape or kill) so she doesn't deserve jail time. She does deserve to get fired because she was on a company funded trip acting like a complete idiot.
You're telling me if you owned the company in which she worked, she would still be employed today? Zero chance that would happen if I'm the one signing the checks.
I have thought about this since I saw it earlier. I firmly believe that one of the reasons I wore a uniform was to allow people to exercise their right to be stupid. And apparently she decided to show her stupidity in public.
I go there and get very misty eyed, she goes and gets stupid. Very sad that we have people that have no idea their lives were paid for with the blood of the men in the tombs.
While it is sad and disgusting to see something like this, I am proud to say I was a very small part of a very long line of folks that were/are willing to pay whatever price is necessary to ensure the freedoms we have. :halfmast:
Whoa, I thought you didn't get unemployment if you were fired for cause. Did something change again?
You're probably right there. But the ever expanding safety hammock will take care of her; welfare, foodstamps, etc.

That was the surprising part; she's on a business trip to the Arlington National Cemetery. It would be bad enough if she was some random douchebag tourist-type but the fact that she was there specifically for the Cemetery? Holy hell. She chose douchebag and leveled up.

Some people just don't realize that there is a time and a place for being a douche. That time and place is college. NOT at the tomb of the unknown soldier. I award her no points and may god have mercy on her soul.

Fired.
Good
Fired, the both of them, as it should be. Even though no punishment legally can be given for such behavior, I think a few hundred unpaid work hours at a VA home would be appropriate, I doubt they'll do it though.
Even though she may be truly sorry, which I doubt, her attitude and feelings about the military probably run deep to allow herself to even think about doing such an act. If her family has veterans, they have to be pissed.
Regardless, she will forever remember her stupid act when she passes a veteran's cemetary, an AL, VFW, DAV post, etc., even when she sees anyone in a service uniform. She may have some anxiety on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day for a while as well.

She is free to show her expression and the company was free to fire her because of it. America works when it wants to.
