That's what was in the fridge when I got home from work a few minutes ago :hurray:
Nothing hanging in the garage though so it must be from the oldest? Nice surprise but he should have called work and let me know. Ate on the way home. Oh well, will make for a great breakfast tonight.
Suppose that's what I get for teaching him how to handload :D Biggest deer heart I've ever seen though and I've seen a lot of them (that's the reason I'm posting about it). Can't wait to hear the story.

We never ate brains on the farm but that video makes it look good. The old folk used to fight over the tongue, never got to try it myself.
Called the kid, he said it was a large 8 point and those Gamekings shredded the hell out of the ribs. Think I'll just stay with the core-lokts

The animal will be hanging for a couple weeks. Gotta eat something and the heart is the only thing that tastes good fresh (other than the liver and I won't eat a lot of that) :D

 Got that right... You wouldn't believe the number of gut piles I need to dodge on the way home from work on the highway lately. We're getting a lot of foggy nights here (it's foggy right now). Quit driving the vette because of it, with only 2 1/2 inches of clearance that doesn't leave much room for error.
