View Full Version : My daily, dumb, likely unanswerable question...

Driving home from work yesterday I was listening to the classic rock station. There was a song playing that I had never heard before, although it can be taken for granted that it's old. The song was an instrumental with violins (of all things) and a female chorus. Although the tempo was medium, they made a pretty good rock song out of it.

This station has no online playlist, and they rarely answer their phone. Based on this limited info, does anyone have any idea what this song is? The only thing I can think of that even sort of resembles the song is "You Can't Always Get What You Want" with the Stones and the Mozart Choir of London, but that song didn't have violins, and it has vocals.

Ahhhh memories of my youth...

Our local crappy beachside amusement park, Funtown USA Rt.1 Saco, Maine, had The Astrosphere. Basically it was a Scrambler inside a geodesic dome. Inside the dome it was dark, with blacklights. The ride was painted all crazy psychedelic and they'd show a big laser light show on the inside of the dome, skulls and demons and wizards and shit, all set to Fire On High. Used to ride that so we could smoke a bowl without arousing the rent-a-cops the park called "security."

:seasix: Color me impressed. I thought there were 2 chances of getting the correct answer (slim and none).

If this isn't enough to get you to restart the Sunday Afternoon Puzzle, I guess nothing ever will.

Actually, I was thinking it would have been this one. The one you posted... I never heard what could be construed as a female chorus. It's actually males singing in their falsetto registers.
