I didn't want to hijack other threads so I started my own.

Bought my poppy straight from a local Legion a few days ago.
I can't imagine what anyone who serves goes through especially those from the WW 1&2 and the conditions that they had to deal with.

To my American friends from VB who serve or have served I would like to thank you for not only looking after the US but also my countries interests.

I have been to Flanders and saw the fields that the writer was speaking of. I did a WW1 tour of the Somme battle. It was really interesting seing the terrain that that guys had to fight through and defend.

Canada and Britannia helped us as much as they could during the War of Northern Aggression. Thanks Brothers.

A great thread......:seasix:

Mere words can't begin to express the appreciation I feel for our veterans.
Some paid the ultimate price for the freedoms I enjoy. :halfmast:
My youngest son is currently in the USN, aboard the USS Preble, DDG 88 guided missle destroyer.
I wish I could spend the day with him.

God bless all who served, and may God watch over all that are in our armed forces.

The handsome devil in the middle with the stache was my uncle Willy, shot by a sniper in the last week of WWII. My Dad's little brother, he was around 20 when he died. He lies in Flanders Fields......lest we forget. :sadangel:

http://oi47.tinypic.com/2u9o9ah.jpg:sadangel: You Canuckistanians took many losses in both WW1 and WW2....mainly because you were being lead by the damn British. May their sacrifice and bravery never be forgotten.

I had to look up what that was.
Interesting way of phrasing it as I never heard it before.

I, for one, am damn happy for Canada's contribution to our well being. I think of, and remember your losses during dire times and events.

Thank you Canada.
