If there's any critique that can stick with the McLaren MP4-12C supercar, it's the idea of being a bit conservative as 616-hp, $259,000 rocketships go. For those who enjoy fixing their cars after they buy them, German tuner Hamann Motorsports has a solution to the attention deficit disorder faced by McLaren owners in the valet stand-off with Ferraris and Lamborghinis: a swirling coat of multicolors along with other body upgrades to create the Hamann memoR. Can someone explain how adding that ricer wing increases top speed? I get the downward force on the rear wheels giving more traction to the tires, but wouldn't that wing, any wing, for that matter, reduce top speed?

At high speeds the car could be made more stable with a wing, like the Veryon (sp?) does. It has a wing that comes out at higher speeds including top speed. By keeping the car stable at near the top speed, perhaps a higher top speed can be attained. Maybe. :lol:
