There's something about watching animals take care of their adorable offspring that never gets old -- even more so when the love extends across species. That's exactly what recently happened at a zoo in Israel, when a female baboon started taking care of a stray kitten that wandered into her enclosure.

The primate now watches over the little feline, inspecting it for fleas and barely letting it out of her sight. But like any relationship, it's complicated. The baboon sometimes steals the kitten's food, and according to zoo officials, the two will have to be separated if that continues.

Is the kitten in danger?

Yes. That ain't Koko. Baboons are vicious creatures and when the novelty wears off for the monkey, that kitten won't be long for this world.

Unfortunately, the that's SO cute crowd will delay doing anything until it's too late. Only then, will it occur to them it was a bad idea from the start.

Kitten should have never been allowed to stay with the monkey. IMO.

Bandar-log (Hindi: बन्दर-लोग), a term used in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book to describe monkeys - specifically, Langur monkeys.

In Hindi, Bandar means 'monkey' and log means 'people'. The Bandar-log feature most prominently in the story "Kaa's Hunting", where their scatterbrained anarchy causes them to be treated as pariahs by the rest of the jungle.[1] Their foolish and chattering ways are illustrated by their slogan: We are great. We are free. We are wonderful. We are the most wonderful people in all the jungle! We all say so, and so it must be true. Bandar-log communicate almost entirely through the repetition of other animals' speech

The term can also be used to describe most democrats.
