Assembled this for my neice and nephew yesterday:

They seem to like it.

About time, since I bought it for Christmas 2010 and it has taken this long for my BIL to get a place to put it situated. :slap:

It took two guys with the right tools (you really HAVE to have a drill that can accept, in this case, a torx bit; over 500 wood screws) from 10:30 am to 4 with a half hour break for lunch.

Assembly actually went pretty smooth, considering some of the horror stories I have heard on the subject.

The instructions were OK, but there were some areas where they might have been a little clearer (which way the brackets that hold the deck to the slide go, for instance) and one of the brackets had predrilled holes in the wrong place. Plus the big tarp that is supposed to go over the top is missing, but I can pick one up cheap. The ground anchors were pretty cheap and I am going to replace them with better ones.

The wood was a little easy to split, and after some close calls we started drilling pilot holes instead of leading with the wood screws.

Overall, this is the first of these I have done but I think I would give Asheville Play Sets a 8/10 on this one, woulda been 9/10 if the tarp was there.

I'm getting one for my Grandsons. You'd be surprised at the number of new units like that on Craigslist for basically nothing.

No someone's gonna break an arm... :slap:

If that's gonna happen, they'll find a way to do it regardless of the playset. That's why I went with a professionally designed one instead of building one meself.

They have a tonnage rating like an old bridge??

They are rated at 115 lbs per the instructions, but my 200 lb associate didn't phase them when we tested it.

i put one together by myself in approximately 22ish hours over 3 days... (can't remember exactly).....but it was a little bigger ......and do as he said and make pilot holes ......otherwise the wood will split and be careful when using the drill to screw the screws into the wood because it go all the way through (wood is very soft)...... and good luck......my grandgirl loves hers.....

Looks great! You're gonna need the tarp on top; little kids love being under the top when it's raining. My daughter used to eat every meal under the tarp. :cert:

It doesn't make you a softie, it makes you a good guy. :cert:

I put one of those together several years ago myself. By the time I was finished, my wife had moved in with her mother, my thumbnail was split and the dog was limping. What a SOB.

And later on he will be the "you can't go anywhere with him, there is no telling what kind of trouble he'll get you in" uncle
