It is a city that rises defiantly in the delta alongside the father of waters
It is the humidity of autumn evenings that drapes stately oaks and broad magnolias
...
It is haunted ... and it is loud.
It is Halloween night & Cannon blasts
It is a Louisiana gumbo of humanity that cheers its Tigers to victory & destroys the dreams of invading foes
Chance of rain is ... never!
It is the cathedral of college football & worship happens here
When the sun finds its home in the western sky it is a field of glory for sure ...
But much more than that it is a sacred place
And it is Saturday night in Death Valley

Don't look over your shoulders guys. University of Oregon blew through USC like a buzzsaw. #2 right now, right behind 'Bama.

Stranger yet, Oregon State is ranked 13th.
LSU is winning.
Alabama better start scoring if they want to win.

Yep, still proud of the team. Also, props to Mettenberger for a fantastic game. The guy brought some spectacular throws.
Also, I do have to wonder Les' thoughts on playing soft D with a minute left and the game on the line....
Finally, Vetteman, you had to be worried. Don't tell me you weren't.

Imagine being on the other side. Dominating the second half and then playing soft D with a minute left and the game on the line.
Hey, it's kinda tricky walking on the roof at night with a Barrett 50 cal.....

I gotta disagree. LSU beat them in every facet except the score.
But, Alabama won the game:dance:

And Kansas State handled Okie State.
Looked like LSU came to play but Bama wasn't prepared.

well what can you say, other than we lost. We played better than we have in the last three years but a Loss is a loss.
I still hate Little nicky, the crimson tide and I hate some of the fans this time of year......

I don't know whose idea it was to change the way LSU was playing defense on that last drive, but it cost them the game. Going to the soft prevent, then gave away the scheme that had Bama a going three and out.
I was really hoping K-State would move up. The K-State-Bama game should be a good one. K-state showed yesterday they have a little more than the Collin Klien Show

I'm starting to see Les for what he is. He's a guy that fights himself to lose at times. The clock management skills from a while back in more than one game quickly come to mind and now this prevent shit from last night. HTF does he coach them to play aggressive and then with a little more than a minute left, start playing safe? The aggressiveness is what got you to where you were.....Dumbass. Mad hatter...more like shooting himself in the foot with both barrels. The team has my support, they came out and almost pulled off the upset. Mettenberger had the game of the season and the rest of the guys played their asses off.

I've seen many coaches do this. It rarely works, yet they keep doing it.

Honestly the LSU/Bama rivalry has become a bigger deal than the auburn rivalry, mostly because both are at the top of the polls every year

Oregon should be number two. If Kansas State/Alabama wind up in the BCS title game (god forbid) then Kansas State will get their ass handed to them.

There were some other "oops" moments, like faking a field goal on a 4th and 12. Um, OK, that was gutsy yet stupid.

Exactly, I didn't even get to the other shit. I guess the odds caught up with the riverboat gambling style of Les.
Roll, dice....roll, tide.
On a slightly related note, the traffic on I-10 coming out of Baton Rouge towards Texas sucked big ones, no doubt due to all the LSU fans returning home. Funny, I saw more of the LSU flags waving from the cars on Friday heading into Louisiana....not so many this evening on the way home.

LSU out simply out-played Bama even according to Saban
Coach Miles lost that game with some questionable play calls
but, a loss is still a loss

Very true. Aside from one drive, bamas offense was dead in the second half, and the tackling was awful. But les miles found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

Oh, I agree but I think the game would be more entertaining. Alabama is a ****ing beast of a team - period.
