They resuced a 1913 Cooper 485 HP tandem double acting gas engine from Bethlehem Steel. It originally ran a generator. It's been taken completely apart, refurbished and is in progress of being put back together. In another month or so, I'll be heading out with my welder to help fab up 12" exhaust pipe :seasix:

The fuel system and exhaust are not hook up yet but they used a very large portable air compressor to get it to turn over.

Awesome. It's funny to see something so big put out so little power. My SB cchebby motor in my T-bucket puts out just a few HP shy of what that thing does.

Looks cool though. Take pics of the exhaust build. Heh heh... give it headers so it's louder. I triple dog dare you :funnier:

One of the guys had a replica plate made for the side of the engine ( with model, HP and bore & stroke). It's about 3-1/2" x 5" . He paid close to $500 out of his pocket for a foundry to make a mold and reproduce a couple . :seasix:
