Got some bad news about the new job today.

I start November 5th. The HR person that I've been dealing with told me that I HAVE to take 2.5 weeks of vacation before the end of the year, no choice, no carry over. If I don't take it all by the end of the year, they won't let me in the building until my vacation time is used up.

With all the holidays and the 9/80 work schedule, it means that I can only work 20 days in November and December.

That sucks.:D I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum with vacations blacked out from Thanksgiving until Christmas. With that I still have 7 days to burn before then.

We get to carry over up to 200 hours of vacation time to the next year.

Working 9/80 prevents me from taking the van pool. Commuting costs me $15 a day :( between tolls and gas.
