Mrs. Moore. She was a petite redhead with a great azz and boobs and the best teacher I ever had. Both she and her husband were shot at their home Thursday night; he's in good condition, she's in serious condition.

They were retired and lived in a tiny rural community. It doesn't appear to be a burglary because even after the shooting no one went into the house. The Sheriff says he thinks he has a possible motive. That motive or the name of a suspect wasn't released.

with a great azz and boobs
As long as she has a great azz and boobs, this is tragic. If she had a azz like a loaded diaper and 36 long boobs, Meh.

Oh my! That's terrible.

:sadangel: Damn.

But we don't think this is a deal where they are going to go to another house tonight. It doesn't appear to be that way. We've got our reasons for thinking that.

I hope they've got legitimate reasons for being so vague.

Yeah, it all sounds cloak and dagger to me. If Mr. Moore is in good condition he should be able to name the shooter or at least describe him. The Sheriff also said that it was an isolated incident and that the neighbors didn't have to worry.

I just got in from my back yard, after shooting 28 , 9mm shots from my semi-auto into a silhouette target. I'm getting scary accurate with my gun, and that is the exact reason that I'm doing it.
Having it really gives me a feeling of security that I welcome, as I get older.
I take it everywhere, and my wife does not even know that I have it.
I hope that the victims of that home invasion pull through.....:sadangel:

Someone in their family maybe?

That's my first thought, too.

You're doing exactly the right thing. My teacher and her husband who were shot were outide their house and got shot at 12:30 a.m., which is pretty late for an old couple to be up. If I were outside my house located in the boonies, you'd better damn well believe I'd be carrying.

Wow. Hope they can pull through and tell the story

Based on the vague description and "the neighbors don't have to worry," it's a safe bet there's some connection there.

That sheriff could be a stand in for Robert Duval. :yesnod:

Boy, they sure live out in the boonies. You'd want to be well armed out there in the sticks.

Interestingly, I remember my HS English teacher only because she once asked me if I could go out to her car (she pointed it out through the open window in the classroom) and get the box fan she left there. Gave me the keys and a hall pass. I remember that her floor boards were full of empty vodka bottles and the car smelled like an ashtray/bar at closing time.

Memories.

I can't confirm this yet, but a friend of mine says that Mrs. Moore was shot in the eye. Damn!

I know the Sheriff well. He would be one's worst nightmare if he caught you doing something wrong. The largest town in that County has only about 2500 people in it, and Sheriff Crumpton knows all of them, where they work, and all their plusses and minuses.

His voice sounds like Duval too.....it's a "don't mess with me" voice.:willy::stickemup:

If they were outside at 12:30 am when they were shot, then it might have been some type of family/friends/swingers squabble, where the shooter(s) came over, banged on the door; the old couple met them outside; things got heated...

Smith Co. is a law and order kind of place. The locals say, "If it's noon on a sunny day and Sheriff says it's dark outside, you best be looking for a flash light."

Smith Co. is a colorful place. It's the tornado capital of the world--more tornadoes hit there than anywhere else. Something called "Sullivan's Hollow" is there, a Hatfield-McCoy kind of area. It also hosts the National Tobacco Spitting Contest (world record: 24 feet, 10.5 inches) and the National Water Melon Seed Spitting Contest.

Doubt that a 76-year-0ld woman was a swinger...or at least I don't want to imagine that....

My youngest son won a watermelon seed spitting contest when he was young. He gave me the prize and I still have it. It's a potholder that looks like a watermelon. You should have seen the look on his face when he was awarded the prize.

What was his distance? The record is over 68 feet.

I don't remember the distance. He just outspit the other contestants.
