Police said the 18-year-old driver, Akshay Panducherry, and his 21-year-old passenger, Harshavardhan Patlolla, were able to crawl out of the car.

Unbelievable that they survived that.

That shit will buff out. I'm still waiting on someone to buy me a Ferrari. I'm thinking I may not want to hold my breath.

I used to work in Alpharetta. Lots of $150k cars running around.

I'm surprised the article waits so long to mention the ubiquitous Ferrari post-wreck inferno. The media loves that shit, full on Don Henley-style.

Mid-rear engined exotics have a tendency to light up in serious wrecks. Makes the installation of a fire bottle a common mod these days.

Car was an f430 that was a BDay present to the kid.

He had it all of 2 weeks.

Burned over 80% of his body? That is terrible.

And don't forget Dumbest.... The driver's dad gave his 18yr old kid the Ferrari as a graduation present.

More dollars than sense..... Maybe he shoulda considered a nice beige Camry.

Obviously ultra rich new-citizens don't give a fcuk about being good parents. Who in their right mind would give an 18 year old a loaded weapon like a Ferrari?:slap:

The car was traveling eastbound on Webb Bridge Road just before 4 a.m. when the crash occurred.

You seldom read news reports of good things happening at that hour.

Too bad the kid won't get the chance to learn from his mistakes.

Sad, but this is how society thinks nowadays. They want to be friends instead of parents. I can see rewarding the kid for graduation, but giving the kid something like that is crazy. Maybe if the kid had just finished a graduate program and was becoming a doctor or something...wait til he was mature enough to have that without killing himself.

Yeah, because kids don't kill themselves in a Honda Civic.

It isn't the car. It isn't the parents. It's the nearly complete lack of driver training in this country.

So you figure they were doing the speed limit when this happened? Obeying all the traffic laws that new drivers are taught about? :bigears:

I heard yesterday that he died; pretty sad, I'm sure his dad is in his own little hell over this.

The story is all over the world now. Here's a link to a UK story. It has several shots of the car, before and after. It appears he also had access to either a Bentley or Aston Martin, hard to tell from the pictures.
