A police report has revealed the details that led to Wednesday's arrest of William Drayton, Jr., also known as Flavor Flav, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence (battery).
The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 17. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call from a woman saying that she had been in a fight with her fiance and that he had also threatened her son.
Upon arrival at a residence in the 7800 block of Via Ventura Court, police officers were able to hear a verbal confrontation between a man and a woman.
Trujillo told police that the argument began because Drayton cheated on her. According to the report, Drayton threw 39-year-old Elizabeth Trujillo to the floor twice.
Trujillo's 17-year-old son came to her defense and began wrestling with Drayton in the living room.
Drayton then grabbed two knives from the kitchen and began chasing the teen. The teenager ran upstairs and locked himself in his sister's room.
Drayton allegedly kicked in the door to the room and once again threatened the teen's life.
Trujillo's left earring was also ripped out during the confrontation.
Drayton confirmed most of what happened but denied that he chased the teenager or threatened his life.
However, Drayton had a cut on his left hand from one of the knives and the knives were found on the kitchen floor.
Drayton was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
Drayton first became known as a member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy.
He also appeared on the VH1 reality show "The Surreal life." During that show he developed a relationship with Brigitte Nielsen and they were given their own show titled "Strange Love."
Drayton next stared in "Flavor of Love" for three seasons after his relationship ended with Nielsen.
In 2011, Drayton opened a fried chicken restaurant named Flav's Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, but it closed four months after it opened.
Flavor Flav's House of Flavor opened in Las Vegas in March 2012 but it also closed in September. He now serves food at a concession stand in Blondies Sports Bar & Grill at the Miracle Mile Shops.
This is not Drayton's first brush with the law. Most recently, he was cited on July 4 for possession of fireworks and disturbing the peace.
He has also received several traffic-related tickets and cited for possession of less than an ounce of a controlled substance.
Drayton will make his first appearance in court at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 18.
He is being held on $23,000 bail.
