I have never felt the C6Z shifter. I have the Hurst. I use the heaviest spring they have. I like the tight feel. Not many people like how stiff it is but I am abit of a meat head so it suits me. Keep us updated on how you like it as you get more use to it.

I have not seen the rsd snap shifter? What is the difference?
This is on my list of things to do. How did you go about solving the issue of the c5 boot not fitting the shifter?

its a cut down c6 z06 shifter i believe its an inch cut off and rethreaded to accept the stock c5 knob

Not all mens shifters are created equal. So we need to compare and take notes as to who's is best.
Ok That sounded really creepy.

See thats no fun. You need to teach your girl what to do with your shifter.

on mine i just used the stock boot its a little tight right at the base of the knob other than that its pretty much just a swap out.

Looks great :) I had a hurst for 3 years in my old Z06 before moving to the C6Z unit. It's a good drag racing shifter because the 2-3 shift is automatic, but it gets really old for daily driving and the stiff centering force isn't what you want on a road course. When you're trying to make that 4-5 shift at 140+ the last thing you want is the shifter trying to pull itself back center and make you hit 3rd... that's bad.... very bad!

Well, we have to make some Adjustments along the way.. Shift to the right & then to the left.:yesnod:

To clarify the shift boot is made by Vette Essentials and it's specifically for putting a C6 shifter into a C5 in that the bottom of the boot slips into the C5's trim ring and the top of the boot mimics the OEM C6 boot with elastic so it slips into the groove at the base of the C6 knob.

We buy a vette to compensate for our size and then go about trying to shorten our shifters as much as possible
