View Full Version : I have to brag a little bit

After a week of issues, and stupidity of others costing me money. I received the opportunity to be MOD, manager on duty, at my current office. Out of the other 3 individuals who were given the opportunity, I was handed an observation, it said, I performed well under pressure, kept my fellow associates on task, help struggling associates complete their work effectively and efficiently. I was also told that I handled myself well under pressure when our office became slammed with paperwork that needed to be completed. After my observation was over my Manager told me that out of the other candidates, I performed best and that would love to see me continue to work at MOD. Let's hope that a promotion is in my future

I was surprised when they considered me, but I think they are making an exception, I can't imagine them allowing me to do it and then say you're good at this job but your part-time status will prevent you.

That's what we say to all part time people, before we are absolutely sure that we want them full time. It's an out, in case we want to can them.
Looks like Marcus has a future there. Congrats, young man..:cert:

I work for Carmax in the business office, we construct and execute all the necessary paper work when a customer buys a car. Also do all the transactions, cash, and for the finance companies. Also you can throw some dmv work in there too. We must, and ARE very knowledgeable when it comes to buying and selling cars.

Awesome Marcus!! You are really one of the few 'young' people that I can feel confident they will work hard and have learned life lessons enough to not do stupid shit!
After we spoke that night at BRII, I have every confidence that you will go far and be one of those that MAKES things happen, not just watch things happen!
Good for you and I also hope for you that a promotion is in your future!! :seasix:

:cert: I want to be as successful as possible, I want to be the best. I don't want a degree and only make 12.00 an hour like everyone else. I want that 6 figure salary, and I will work for it

Doesn't work that way where I'm at. They expect people to come crawling on hands and knees. Lots of people play that but strangely enough they never seem to figure out the increase in compensation is missing until it's too late. It's like they think they're special or something? Not sure where they get that idea, it sure wasn't me

It's not bragging when you are recognized for being a good employee who not only does what he is suppose to do but goes above and beyond. Too many people do the bare minimum and expect to be recognized and rewarded for their lack of work ethic.
Oh and congrats :cert:

Remember to not limit yourself though! Once you get that 6-figure salary, put your sights on higher (I know you will, just reiterating!), get that 7- or 8-figure INCOME (note: not salary) because you will be reaping the rewards of being the CEO of your own company, and that's just what you make!

I am not capping myself by any means but just putting my goals in order. 7-8 figure income is doable, just got to put in the work to get there

Congratulations Marcus! I worked in the car business for about 10 years and know how complicated the paperwork can be. Everything must be in perfect order and the sales people often want to take shortcuts. It isn't an easy business to learn or work in, but it is some of the best experience you can get.

The Obama comment is the cold hard facts. Like it or not.
Marcus' dad, a very dear friend of mine, knows the jest that I brought with that comment. ;)
