JetBlue offers losing voters free trip out of US
Airline: If your candidate doesn't win, you win a free flight

NEW YORK - Passionate politicos who've pledged to leave the country if their presidential candidate loses this election may just have their prayers answered thanks to JetBlue Airways' latest promotion.
According to the airline's website, the "Election Protection" poll asks voters which candidate they're supporting in the upcoming Nov. 6 election, and then they are asked to pick a dream destination to fly off to from any of the 21 international locations JetBlue serves, in case their candidate loses.
The airline said it is giving away 1,006 free round-trip tickets -- 2,012 free seats -- after the elections to vacation spots such as Aruba, the Bahamas and Costa Rica.
"We've all heard it said before: if my candidate does not win, I'm leaving the country," Marty St. George, senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy for JetBlue, told Fodors. "Fun is one of our five founding values, and in this spirit we decided to give people a chance to recover from the political noise and follow through on their claim to skip town if their candidate comes up short. Most importantly, we want to highlight the freedom we have as Americans to exercise our right to vote and encourage everyone to do their part on Nov. 6. Live Free or Fly!"
While all the winning election losers will receive round trip tickets to the paradise of their choice, JetBlue said it wants to remind those who fly off that "if you change your mind you can always come back. Or not. It's a free country."
