I used to follow this guy's project on F-Chat, before he quit the board in a dispute over parts, since resolved.
The car was originally owned by Motubu, Dictator President of Zaire/Democratic Republic Of The Congo, but had long since found it way to Reunion Island, a French island located 120miles east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean.
When he found the car it had been sitting for many years in a derelict garage. When he first showed up on F-Chat, his English and his working conditions made him a bit of a novelty. As an example, this is how he removed the engine from the car...

After a while it became obvious the guy was talented, by the results he was getting on individual components. He was just working with what he had, and he was making it work.
Then, there was drama over some ordered parts, and he stopped posting. That was over a year ago.
Today, I get a YouTube alert for this video. Car looks fantastic and sounds incredible. The guy's behavior on the road could use some improvement, but man, what a car...
