The 2013 F-Type was unveiled in Paris today.

Jaguar's success of late provided chief designer Ian Callum the time and resources to design a roadster that's smaller than anything Jaguar's built since 1954, and echo the uncluttered looks of the E-Type without copying it outright. Built from an aluminum frame and body, the F-Type will be sold as a soft-top convertible only at first -- although it's clear there could be a coupe version following closely behind.
Power comes from one of two engines: a supercharged, 3-liter V-6 that comes in 340 hp or 380 hp editions, and a supercharged 5-liter V-8 good for 495 hp, both of which are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The V-8 will push the F-Type to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds -- a few tenths of a second slower than a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, its closest competitor.

That front grille does NOTHING for me, well besides just ruining the rest of the car. Put an Aston Martin grille on it.

Not bad for an Indian (dot not feather) car.

If it were not for resale I would be in a Jag...loved the Jags my mom had when I was growing up.

Jagwire :D has come a long way with their cars recently. Getting a little close to Aston in the design department though.

Why not? They knocked off the rest of the design

The reason for that is that the same guy designed both of them. Hard to say who's copying whom.

Saw that. Not completely sold. I think the F-type coupes are better looking and all of the vents are interfering with Jag's usual beautiful lines.

I agree about the vents. I suppose it's because most of the "elite" cars have them now: Maserati, Aston, even Land Rover, etc. My 2007 Jag XK has vents in the front fenders, and I think it'd be better off without them. It's just a fad...and in the past such cars have been immune to them.

Nah. Look at the DB5. Some of the styling cues are still evident in the new crop of Aston's. Jagwire da copy.

Ford killed 2 birds with one stone...
Sucks Ford still does not own Jaguar. I'd be scared shitless to buy a indian owned Jaguar.

Not really a knock off when it's a sister company. While Astons typically look better, the performance usually goes to the Jag.

It would be hard for them to top the looks of the old E and XKE types. Hell, I know they were mechanic specials like Jags have always been, but they were some sexy looking cars.:seasix:

I've never been a fan of Jags.
They always seemed to have a droopy, sad look to them like they were whimpering.
I love my Jag XFR. 510HP and it's all there when you need it.
