Most likely his 4wd failed. Also, putting more rubber down on the asphalt doesn't mean more traction (depending on the properties of the tire). The VW probably had better weight to area of tire contact to the road. Put them in the mud it would be a different story

The big gay faggot assed tires on the chevy did not help either.

Yep, genuine fail.

(Of course, had it been a 6.2 Colorado, things would've been different.)

That's staged! He didn't know how to drive! That could never happen to a Chevy Duramax!

:D

Well…duh.

Weight alone proves that this is a setup.

Truck was not even in 4X

Never mess with a Touareg V10 TDI. Be AFRAID of it. Like physically scared when you see one.

Hope we all learned something here.

This is essentially only a battle of who has better traction, anyway it's still funny. Truck had douchebag stacks on it too, it deserved this.

Top Gear had a few guys out pull a Mercedes C65. Doesn't mean much more than one had better traction. The Mercedes had the rear wheels in the grass where it had no traction.

He would have won if he didn't have a chevy.... Look at the front wheels at the end of the video he trashed his ifs, pretty common for them to snap the tie rods or crack the diff with all the torque.

No, he did not TRASH his IFS.

Yes, it is a known weak spot on the IFS on modified trucks. With a stock suspension, they will hold up fine. Its just a sleeve between the tie rod and the rack. Do any lift or large tire mods, you spend the $75.00 for solid connectors.

Oddly, I have never had a IFS failure and I’m just a tick or two away from 200k. More drag strip launches in 4x4 than I can remember dipping in the 12's often. With stock sleeves.

If you modify ANY truck with aftermarket lifts, 10" wide, taller tires and don’t do anything to beef up the linkage, something is going to give from a stock configuration.

Chrome stack Bubba is an idiot, I doubt if he could have won pulling against a Prius, but, that’s not the trucks fault.

Its easy to win, power brake just to the point before you loose traction, let the other guy start spinning his tires trying to pull you. He breaks traction, its all over for him.

BTDT, I my younger, dumber years. Even had a switch that would kill my brake lights so no one was the wiser.

OBTW, it is a funny video, I laughed.
