Sorry, the 2 corvettes in attendance were hardly notable and newer, BUT the rods and antiques were outstanding! Here's a few of them, I'm estimating 150 cars out on a beautiful Sunday......

It was neat to see some guys I used to hang with a long time ago, before I got married to my restaurant. Lots of old memories.
Man....they've all gotten so much older now?

We had a monthly one too. The usual mix of muscle and a couple of Lambo's to boot. My current lust was also there...an original paint, '55 Chevy, 2 dr. post. It has been lowered, 327/4 spd, and rally wheels. I'm still on the hunt for one. The '57 Wagon below had an all aluminum motor and full covered roll cage inside. The first pics are of a Locomobile. Still cool to see a car with a magneto switch and 8 day clock...kind of nod to aviation at the time :D

I started to go...it started many, many years ago. It was like a real version of American Graffiti with everyone driving the cars. Now, they mostly park them alongside the strip, and you have to walk to see them all. In the older days you could sit out by the road in a chair and watch and hear them cruise by. They still have a huge turn out for the show though. It and Shades of the Past that happened last w/e. :seasix:

That's why I like to go when they are all pulling out. Seeing them sit there is OK but I need to hear those mills and smell me some av-gas fumes! :seasix:

Traffic is horrible on the parkway during these shows. But...you will see tons of old cars. It's about a 3 hr. drive for me. I have gone up and back home in the same day before. Each show - The Grand Rod Run and Shades of the Past have two shows a year there. One in the spring and one in the fall. All the hotels get booked up way in advance and there is price hiking. It is something all car buffs should put on their bucket list.
