Losing my job has lead to one good thing...a little extra time to spend with my new navigator, and less called off date nights do to last minute changes in work schedule....
Now I just need to learn how to cook...well, create confections at least. Friday was date night, and involved cooking MASS quantities of homemade meatballs, and baked ziti for my folks, my brother and his girlfriend, and me and my navigator....MASS QUANTITIES...I used three lbs of ziti, and still had to try to stretch that a little.
The Ziti was a success, of course, I had not doubt about that...I am just that good...then it was time for desert...I was told a few days earlier that funnel cake was one of the favorite deserts, but have not had it in years. Batter was made, oil was heated, batter was poured....at this point disaster struck and my culinary ego was deflated like a ruined souffle. It sank and stuck to the bottom of the pan...what I was able to savage looked more like thin chicken cutlets then funnel cake.
My only thought is that that oil was not hot enough, and there was not enough oil. I tried to cook it on stove top (electric) in about 3-4 inches of oil. I really think I needed a deep fryer with about 6-8 inches of depth.
So we had peanut butter m&m's instead...LOL

Every holiday season, my wife makes a bunch of the best fudge. And I love to pack it for her.

That reminds me of the summer of 83...
Having completed my sophomore year of high school I decided to venture out and explore my new found manhood. I would spend the summer on Mackinac Island sowing my wild oats amongst the stunning Michigan landscape. Disembarking from the ferry armed only with a raging libido and a suitcase filled with quarts of tequila and condoms I was ready to become a man. Imagine my surprise when informed that my new position as head fudge packer was actually putting chunks of different flavored fudges in commemorative boxes to be purchased by the tourists.:banghead:
Worst summer ever.

Not quite yet...
So no fudge was made....my OCD kicked in and the cooking sugar was caramelized...went to the store and bought a Tiramisu Torte instead.

Hey, it was the reject from the 711 that sent me into the area that the People from Deliverance refused to go in and gave Jason Voorhees the willies....at night....but we made it out alive.

I forgot that one also loses control of the radio so I also have a new DJ.
BTW, I HATE the mofo who invented to Peanut Butter M&M's, those little fawkers are addicting...a few here, and a few there, and next thing I know they are all gone, and I am off to buy more cause I have polished off the favorite treat of the "Navigator/DJ".

That's the geyest thing I've ever read!:rofl:

It's not ghey when Mick Jagger does it. :leaving:
I read the first post and I'm thinking "Maybe he's gone gay.." :sissy:
Then I read the second post and thought "Yup!". :yesnod:
"Not that there's anything wrong with that"
Seriously, my wife does many things well. Cooking is not one of them. I do all the cooking when we want a really good meal. Indian, Italian, Japanese and steaks. We eat a lot better and I don't have to clean up. :D

Dunno. I just typed in "navigator" in a Google image search, and looked for a guy who looked hetero-challenged. "Not that there's anything wrong with that"
I was posting in an attempt to be funny, when I wasn't sure if you were talking about a Lincoln Navigator, or a significant other. I know my GF would be pissed if I referred to her as a "navigator" or "DJ", so just tell us his/her/it's name next time! :D

:iagree: I'm still not really sure what we're talking about here.
So you didn't get a new truck and you're not entering the Baja 500?:bilmem:

He's trying to slowly get you use to the idea and find out who on here is cool with it and who's not!
But I know you know that!

He does not drive, so we joke about him being the navigator all the time, and well...he just kinda took control over the tunes, so the DJ thing is his own fault....by the way, it is JD

Actually more like 15 years ago, I just tread lightly with what I usually say, & where...just figured now that after several years of playing the field, and someone has moved into my life that better to hear the truth from me then speculations when we start showing up to Vette events together.
