John Hennessey's tuning shop in Texas operates on a simple principle that denies the existence of "too much horsepower." Here's his latest offering to the angry gods of speed -- a dozen Hennessey V1200 Cadillac CTS-V coupes, all of which offer more than double the power of their everyday lookalikes with a Bugatti-challenging 1,226 hp and a top speed of 242 mph. While the already sinister CTS-V makes do with 551 hp, Hennessey's transformation begins by swapping the engine with his tuned version of the 7-liter LS7 V-8, paired with twin turbos and bolstering of its internal parts. The system can be turned down to just 800 hp for those owners worried about how much trouble they could cause in a car capable of hitting 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

The rest of the CTS-V also gets the Hennessey touch, from a revamped Magnetic Ride suspension to the aerodynamic add-ons that dare to mess with the near-perfection of the CTS-V coupe by adding a spoiler to the trunk. Inside, there's a slathering of carbon fiber, along with six-point seat belts good for that occasionally trip to Friday night test and tune at the local dragstrip. To show that the V1200 isn't just vaporware, Hennessey offers this video showing a V1200 living up to its name on the dyno by pumping 1,066 hp to the rear wheels.

He's also been caught selling heads/cam packages, that turn out to be either stock parts, or a cam only. Check out his BBB ratings, anybody that sends their car to him at this point get what they deserve.

:iagree: That mofo is gonna have to make a lot of awesome cars for a long time to put any of his past behind him. I remember stories from CF with some of the guys I ran with. They were all the same and Hennesuck wasn't the only "tuner" playing the parts swap game; or selling used parts as new and charging a premium for their self proclaimed "God given talents" while 20 something year old, non SAE certified wrench monkeys were doing the labor.

Much too late for me to know, I invested some bux in a similar crooked operation here in Orange Park Florida, June '98......similar M/O called Hocus Pocus Engineering, one Steve Szala and Kevin Hester....Tony Gonyon was another guy involved, but so it seems that Tony was similarly treated and did not profit personally from ripping me off, unlike the other two.....

I found out in the ensuing flames that they were doing the same with other customer's cars, stealing parts, selling shit they didn't have, running up bills padding the accounts, and shit.....I should have done much more forensic accounting than I did.....MUCH more.....but their public personna was much better than the hidden reality....

many men here would have liked to see Hester and Szala dead, turns out Szala went BK before dieing of Throat cancer for all the lies he told, not only that, but WIFE died of cancer too shortly after.....

MY recourse to force their hands was to hand out leaflets about the operation and accuse them publically at cruise nights here locally, especially once a month here in OP, let alone the rest of JAX Florida.....

SO doing that, forced their hand, and they got stupid enough to sue for libel/slander, I replied for discovery of ALL the business accounting records, and that proved my case.....they dropped the suit when Steve got sick and was dying in the hospital.....I was THRILLED@@@@!!!! the only bastard left is Kevin Hester, he and I will have another meeting of my choosing some day....

anyone remember a dude name of Douglas K, Johnson?? NCM fame some 12 years+ ago for 'saving' the NCM??? they got a brick or bench or some such for him, he was a supposed friend, died of BRAIN CANCER.....
his partner, one William F. Tschanen is another crook and thief....I will meet HIM one day too, FAT bastard......

I keep up on them every once in a while, know where they live, and about their wives/families......

My understanding is he builds magazine cars....those are fast, but rarely hold together for the whole magazine shoot. Good luck getting anything similar to the magazine car.
