:( I enjoy Cruise Ins - I will admit though that this year was surely not like it was last year. The "neighbors" kind of put a damper on this year's CI...but beyond that, it's been a steadily declining event for the past 2-3 years.
This year had a lot of familiar faces, the regulars, but also so many missing too.. Small crowd, and it just wasn't "the event" that drew many of us to the prior ones. CI 6 or 7 was probably where it peaked.
I happen to like Bowling Green too, it's a nice town I don't mind visiting once a year. Driving a Vette there is semi-close to holding the key to the city, you can get away with a LOT of SERIOUS traffic infractions and still escape without jail time, even if you are caught red-handed.
Ain't gonna be so lucky in VA pulling the same maneuvers many of us have done in BG I'm afraid...Just one aspect to consider. :D

Although the drunken shenanigans were still top notch.
I've never been there.. It's that bad huh.
I had a great time and met a lot of good people this past May. But I did hear a lot of people say that the CI's of years past were a lot more fun w/ more people. 10 hours as a passenger kind of took it's toll on me, tho' - but then again, I don't do well as a passenger for any length of time.

Do it at the barn in the summer... you can go to the beach, cruise the colonial parkway and check out the historical stuff in Williamsburg/Jamestown, etc. etc.
I would like to see the new satuff at the NCM one of these days and I havn't seen my plant tour guide friend Beth in awhile now, but it's always nice to see her and her husband.

I was only half-kidding about a party at my place, but I haven't got a clue as to how we'd fit all the cars in the neighborhood. Anyway, North Texas would be great but I know there would be folks coming from all over so it might not work for some.
