Clearly, we need to get the government involved.

It's been brutal this year.
We have new sod and have to water it to keep it alive, just got our first water bill and it was 4600 gallons. $88 :ack:
We were back home visiting the inlaws this weekend and they got 4.5" & 5.5" respectively, and they were thrilled.
Got back home and we only got 1". :kicksrocks:
We went 45 days with NO rain, and we've only got about 1 1/2" in the last 90 days.
People are letting livestock starve because there is nothing to feed them.
A bale of hay is going for $150-$250.
My parents let their "lawn" go dormant since they are on an acreage.
Taking the dogs out, you could hear the grass crunch under their feet.
A couple days after the 4.5" of rain, and mom sent me this:

Reason number one why I am going hunting this year. The prices of meat are going to skyrocket this winter.

Prices have already started to go up at the grocer.

OR the SW, which is only a ~30 y/o idea/concept with ME.....
but NO, our .gov is toooooooo stupid to engage in anything like long term planning,
much less issue any EPA/bullshit agencies agreement to actually DO something like that.....

We finally got some decent rain here Monday, about 2". Prior to that we had gotten perhaps .25" since early June. I laugh at an $88 water bill. Mine was about that per week here, just to keep our grass alive.

Hoping Issac will save some rain and squeeze it out over the mid west where it is needed! It will be too late to save the crops but is still needed!

Damn, you have cheap water. We had our in ground system running for our acre lot and it was running $300+ per month

U NEED to buy a house with a WELL on it......shit, I have one that's only 30' deep and use the heat sink to do my HVAC waste cycle on the temp with, and irrigate the lawns/gardens.....
burning CITY water for that is just silly, you paying 3x what it's worth...supply is $1 and they charge you for sewage for 3X........
still think my concept of trans con water pipelines for irrigation is proper and dooooooable.....nuclear power plants not pumping water can supply the grid.....

Complaining about water bills to keep grass alive while people and livestock don't have enough to stay alive is very sad indeed. :smash:

Well SURE, but they are destined to be people food, anyway.....but no reason for torturing them in the meantime, and so WE as a society need to get to WORK and PLAN AHEAD.....WHY in hell am I such a 'visionary' ???
