That hurts. I'm a big fan of his from when the Yankees first called him up. I've been following him from NY to ATL to KC and then finally to SF when he got his big deal.
I guess the pressure of the big contract caused him to make a bad judgement call or two.

He was the MVP in the All-Star game, too.

I agree. He was in line for a huge deal this offseason too. Now it'll be 'small potatoes'

Just like Penn State had wins erased, wonder if MLB (or any pro organization) would ever ponder wiping out wins when somebody on the team is found to have been juicing.
Would be hard to prove duration-wise, IMO.
Not that I'm for it, but that kind of news always taints their perceived success when a key player is busted like that.
*shrug* not surprising though. I suspect a good bit are enhancing....

If they really want it to stop, they'll penalize the team as well as the player. That'll never happen.
Back when Bonds was still playing, Chris Rock had a bit about PED's. Said basically: "If some guy told me taking this pill would earn me millions of dollars I'd be a free-basing mofawker."
And honestly, there is truth to that. Melky was about to be relegated to back up status at best. He gambled and won (for a while). Imagine the timing if this came out next season. He would have gotten his big deal and have been set...

Yeah I know it'll never happen, but penalizing the team would be the way to stop it.
