Annual physical: Looks like I'm gonna be around a while longer...

Had my annual physical exam today (they call them "Wellness Visits" now). Here are some of the figures:

B/P: 117/64
Heart rate: 56 bpm (an athlete's rate)
Temperature: 98.1 F
Weight: 174
Height: 5'11"
All blood work normal (including thyroid--thanks, LisaJohn!)

Asked him about my recent tiredness. He says it's likely depression, so he referred me to a psychiatrist to get the proper meds. Funny thing...he asked me if I ever felt suicidal. I said, "No." He said, "I didn't think so...Homocidal, maybe...." :rofl:

So...unless the shrink calls out the little guys with the cute jackets that tie in the back, I may be here a bit longer.

Martinis make me drunky. If that's the object, then they're fine, but I like to stay on my feet when I'm drinking. BTW, when I was first dating my wife, I got into her Dad's good graces by giving him an antique sterling silver olive spoon for his martinis. They made him drunk, too....

Doc is okay, just the same problem as all docs: They don't know a damned thing about you without consulting your records. I'd feel very embarrassed if I had to look at my file to know anthing about my client's case.

I know that a lot of people are on the "skip the drugs" wagon for depression but anti-depressants probably saved my life and I know they saved my marriage. Knowing and accepting that you have an issue is the first step, some life style changes and a lot of learning on my part have made me a different person than I was a year ago. (Yes, I was more of an asshole:seasix:)

I am now a firm believer in "better living through chemistry."
