One BILLION dollars.
My neighbor bought one a month or so ago. He just finished driving from Nashville, to L.A. and onto Seattle with another Camaro and a Corvette ZR1. :D

Just a dumb question- why are dealers ordering Silver's and Gray's in that car? I would think Black would be the first color of choice?

I could at least comprehend someone paying $50k for that car, but once it even hits the upper 50s (much less $60k plus), it's just kind of getting silly to me. $65k for a Camaro is just.....I don't know....I can't justify it.
Strangely though, for the '13 GT500, I can stomach $65k.
No flames pls...it's just my opinion. :)

I like the Camaro yet, I'm not paying $65k for one. When the mark of $65k is reached, the doors of other vehicles, although lesser powered, begin to open. The way around the lesser power? That's where the engine work can begin. I'll also say one can have the same HP in the other cars for less money.

Yep, selling cars at a Chevy- Buick- GMC store about 2 miles from my house. Things didn't work out with Coke here, so I took my pension and I thought I'd try something different. So far so good.

The Ford dealer here threatened to sell the new Shelby Mustang for sticker and it is about the same price. I think I would buy another house with 60 large.

Buy all the tickets. Save $ 15k plus sales tax. Winning.
If I wanted a boosted Camaro I'd buy the cheapest one with a V8 and install an aftermarket blower or turbo kit, save a ton of cash, and make a lot more power*
* In an imaginary world where I'm not poor.

The start of a potentially good idea if built on a budget where you do your own work, or have some very close and talented pals.
The big snag is you'll have to spend a LOT of that "extra" cash to make it equal to what GM did from the factory as well as to support all the extra power without blowing up.
But I'm with you... I wouldn't spend that kind of cash for that thing.
Supercharger + extras - hardware gets pricey especially for newer platforms.
Fabrication for brackets/pulleys, plumbing for intercooler/intake, new manifold, high volume fuel pump, 60+ lb/hr injectors etc
($10k + with ease just to get the S/C set up properly)
Transmission - hardened main shaft at the least
($4000 - R/R + parts)
Clutch - aftermarket dual disc or monster single plate from RPS, Exedy, Mcleod etc
($1500 + install - less if you do it with trans upgrade)
Suspension - heavier sway bars, better bushings, increased spring rates and shock damping
($4000 + depending on how aggressive you go to match what GM did)
Larger wheels/tires
($3-4000 for a relatively budget set up)
Several other little extras to make that new found power dependable.
It can be done, but it's not like you can just slap on a $4-5000 S/C kit and be able to compete with a ZL1.

:iagree: very well said. Don't forget the cost of repairing your home built project, for 100k miles, as opposed to enjoying a 100k warranty that'll fix just about anything you throw at it, in stock form.

Your car is $65k meanwhile the vert pricing was just announced with a $60k base.. :toetap:
Your GM may want to come off that "market adjustment" a tad.

Plus the fact that your trade-in value will be far closer to that of the base model you started with and possibly even less.

The last 2 have sold with the same 5K MA, so I don't think they'll drop this one any time soon. MSRP is 59 and change with options.

My father's Z71 K1500 was a home built project...although he owned a 4x4 shop, and the S/C, tranny, injectors, brakes, rotors, rear end gears, etc, were all donations from sponsors for his show truck...ok, maybe not the same thing :D :leaving:

Lingenfelter?! Great stuff, but it comes at a significantly higher cost compared to local tuners/speed shops that often achieve better results for less money.
Remember the old adage about performance modification?
Fast
Affordable
Reliable
Pick 2 because you aren't gettin' all 3.
