Just goes to show how ineffective a .380 round is. On the other hand, had Mr. Williams been armed with a .45, then the county would not be paying (a) the hospital to bandage these two felons, (b) the court system (judge, jury, defense attorney, and prosecutor) to try and convict them, and (c) the penal system to incarcerate them - they could have paid a significant less sum for a burial in "Potters Field".

I can see it now, the two miscreants that were shot will attempt to sue Mr. Williams for undue harm and emotional distress. . .

This is a textbook example about my thoughts on shot placement. For all the guys who keep saying shot placement is the key, "shot placement" is never guaranteed under duress. I am pretty sure the old man wasn't aiming for extremities, but that's what happens when the shit hits the fan.

My advice: carry bigger bullets; as big as you feel comfortable shooting.
