Lightning hit my house July 4th. Took out my tv and DVD player in the living room, and my computer! Everything and everyone else is okay. Insurance has a $500 deductible, and by the time they devalue my antiquated appliances I won't get diddly squat! So I gotta buy some new stuff, and til then I'll make an occasional appearance when I can every couple of days. Later peeps!:barnbabe:

Yeh, no shit, we have had TWO serious lightening strikes in my immediate location, one to a tree some 14 years ago, in my back yard.....blew the living shit outta everything in the house.....except major appliances, did kill the microwave though....then just 3 years ago, it hit another tall oak tree in back yard of the kids across the street.....split that 3' diameter tree in 1/2 for about 70' or so, and took out all his electronics, and wiped my wife's computer, not having good enough surge protection....
now a daze she has her own isolation transformer, a surge strip before it, with main power switch, the transformer, then another surge strip the gear plugs into....we went WIFI secured some time ago, forget them LAN cables....too much antenna there, even IF laying across the concrete floor....
I have similar setup on my computer, and the TV/crap has it's own power strip....lightening capitol of the nation....Florida....

Go to a sears appliance outlet. I just checked and there are 2 in Chatanooga.
Sears Outlet: Discount appliances, refrigerators, dishwashers, laundry equipment, lawn tractors (http://www.searsoutlet.com)
They sell applicances at a discount that are either discontinued (newer model has come out), scratch and dent, reconditioned, etc... It's all good stuff and is warrantied as if its new, its just not, and becasue its not you get a good deal on it. Also with it being sears you can get financing at a decent interest rate so you don't hit the bank account too hard. They have promo's for 6 and 12 months at low interest all the time.
Good luck.

That's a good tip, but I wouldn't call Sears financing a "decent interest rate". Last I checked their rate on their cards was 29.99%.

I haven't checked in forever either to be honest. Worst case he can go and finance with one of his own personal cards at a lower rate.
I ALWAYS go to a chain we have locally called brandsmart. I literally have outfitted all of my flips with new stainless stoves, overhead micro's, dishwashers, and fridges for $1500-$1700 (all in). I've got my sales guy programed in my phone and he has me in his..:D Even used them for my kitchen remodel for all applicances except the micro. Each time if i didn't pay cash they always had 6 to 12 months at less than 10% for us (we have excellent credit). The last time it was 4.99% for 6 months.

Home Depot, thank you. I don't shop at Lowe's.
I can sneak in occasionally at work!
