Missouri cop allegedly forces 2 women to have sex with him in exchange for not arresting them

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 47-year-old Kansas City police officer has been charged with corruption after prosecutors say he demanded two women have sex with him in exchange for not arresting them.

Jeffrey Holmes was released on $75,000 bond Tuesday after being charged with two counts of acceding to corruption by a public servant. The police department says Holmes has been suspended without pay. He has been on the force for 13 years.

Prosecutors say Holmes had sex with the women at different motels in March and April in exchange for not arresting them. One of the women told police she was working as a prostitute. The other said she had outstanding warrants and marijuana in her motel room when she met Holmes.

Holmes' lawyer, Kevin Regan, didn't immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

I would think she would. What do you think she gets? $ 100 a pop (pun intended)? $ 150? Say you run a business. You sell $ 100 widgets. So a cop comes in your store and demands a free widget or he will harrass you. You wouldn't have an issue with that? Maybe you run a tow truck company and the cop demands a free tow that retails for $ 100 or he will hassle you about your towing license, the light out on the tow truck, etc.

If the cop is guilty, he should not only get sent to the pokie, he should be housed in general population.

Why didn't these chicks just go to jail? As I understand it the offer was sex & no jail, or jail.. Why didn't they refuse & go to jail? possession of mairjuana, seriously... thats a $100 bond (at least here), prostitution? thats $300, so they would perfer to have sex with a scumbag over a couple hundred dollars? Go to jail, report the guy to internal affairs..

Sounds like they made a deal and are breaking it, and ruining his life in the process. It's not like he raped them, and they sleep with LOTS of men. If he was on duty during said liaisons, then he should get fired for that. Those girls better watch their back from now on....:willy:

The alleged prostitute made a prudent financial decision. The lost opportunity cost from being in the pokie all night outweighed the what, 30-45 minutes she gave for free to avoid being locked up.

At least she could still make some money that evening, then go and file the complaint against the crooked cop the next day when she was not working.

As to the woman with the pot, that's a little different. Maybe she was a frequent flyer and would have faced some kind of enhanced charge for a seemingly petty offense. Regardless, she seems to be exhibiting poor decision making skills, which pretty much rules out your logical response.
