Fourth day in a row at over 100 here. At least it has "cooled down" from the 107 and 108 we had Thursday and Friday. Problem is that they are saying the humidity is coming back

Thousands still without power here. Thankfully, we were spared this round...

Thousands left without power after Sunday night storms

UPDATED 9:26 AM EDT Jul 02, 2012

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The numbers are decreasing, but thousands of people are waking up without power after storms moved through the area Sunday night.

At one point, a total of 25,000 LG&E and KU customers were in the dark.

The 40208 zip code in the southern part of the city was one of the hardest hit areas.

According to MetroSafe, a fourth of the outages were in the vicinity of Churchill Downs and Algonquin Parkway.

That is the area where they've had calls of down trees and power lines.

The storms delayed races at Churchill Downs and cut short the Bats game at Slugger Field.

Damn that's hot!

The AC in my building was supposed to kick on at midnight to cool the office, however due to a power surge, the AC wasn't turned on until this morning. I know for a fact the AC won't catch up today, as it's going to be another scorcher.

I think we are on day ten. It was this way last summer too.

Good Afternoon,

The current situation with the A/C system is that we are running at approximately 50% capacity so the entire building is still experiencing high temperatures while repairs are being performed. We anticipate that the building temperature will be cooler by tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, at this point we will not be able to cool the building any more than what it currently is today.

I will keep you informed of any new information as it becomes available.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Sincerely,
