From HERE (http://www.fizzies.com/thenandnownew.html):

Today FIZZIES® are the drink kids love to make and those young at heart will enjoy once again! In 2005, Amerilab Technologies purchased the Fizzies trademark and began manufacturing Fizzies as their own product. The tablets are now sweetened with sucralose (Splenda), and not only taste great, but are low in calories and have 100% Vitamin C in each tablet. New this Spring is our two new flavors Cherry Cola and Grape which are the two most requested FIZZIES flavors. These effervescent tablets (sold in 12ct boxes) dissolve quickly in 8oz of water and fit into the top of any water bottle. The sweet confectionary scent is quite captivating and the taste is remarkable coming from a flavored tablet. The much anticipated return of Cherry Cola and Grape FIZZIES are sure to be a hit with all generations of FIZZIES fans.

I remember them back in the late 50's,they tasted just like soda's ,when they became popular the Coca Cola co. bought them out and done away with it. I'm not sure if is the original formula but I know they were better then sodas.

From the same link as above:

Then, in 1968, the FDA came out and banned the the artificial sweeteners used to make Fizzies, called cyclamates. Cyclamates were an essential part of making Fizzies tablets, and the scientist didn't know how to reformulate.

I especially liked the Root Beer. :seasix: Thanks for the update. Sometimes you are looking at that bottle of water and wished you could add something to it. Now you can have a couple of flavors in your pocket.

Remember having a dare/contest with your friends to see who could put a whole Fizzie in their mouth and just hold it there the longest? Man, the things we thought up to do before video games were invented.
