I only purchase collectables in pairs. If he had two, I'd make him an offer.
Able to reach 100mph, the S-Type Mercedes Benz was among the world's fastest when it came off the production line in 1928.
I wonder how stable that thing is at 100mph. I'm betting a pucker factor of about 9.7.

Hey!! that reminds me of John Steed's Bentley from the Avengers TV series......

I bet it was hidden in there when they were at war with Germany.
The Brits would have probably wrecked it if they saw it, and that sentiment lasted for years after the war.

... Or it was "borrowed" from Germany after the war and hidden. Lots of stories about race cars, luxury cars, yachts, etc disappearing from the Continent, and reappearing decades later in Britain...

I recognize that picture. There was a really long goose chase for this car. I'll look for the story after i run some errands.

I know where there is a nearly flawless Model T that some weirdo eccentric built a house on top of it around 1930. The guy who bought the house in 2005 wanted to do some renovations and knocked a hole in the floor to get in the crawl space and found the car. Too bad Model T's aren't worth much.
