Alaska man climbs tree, but gets stuck upside down

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An Alaska man had to be rescued after he climbed a tree for exercise but got stuck upside down by one leg.

Fairbanks firefighters had to use a ladder truck to reach the 53-year-old man, who was dangling nearly 30 feet off the ground. He was uninjured.

Assistant Fire Chief Ernie Misewicz told The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner in an email that the man decided to climb the tree because "it was something he wanted to do."

He said the man had spikes and a belt around his stomach, and that he lost his grip and fell backward. The belt slipped below his waist, flipping him over.

Authorities were alerted by a friend, whom the man called from a cellphone attached to a lanyard around his neck.

He should stick to being a CF mod, eating cheese poofs, and fapping.

it sounds like either
(A)he had the belt too low
(B)he is top heavy
(C)both

regardless of why he is lucky he had a phone. You can die from hanging upside down.

I always wondered if you were in shape, if it's possible for you to use your hands and arms and 'climb' up your own leg and up the rope? Hmmmmm....:confused5:

Possible but takes a lot of upper body and core strength which he obviously doesn't have.

Our deer hunting club had a member who left the club and joined another one. The next deer season after he left, he was hunting out of a climbing stand with a harness. He fell and was suspended upside down and DIED like that. We were told that his blood drained into his head and caused some kind of pressure to kill him.
