Indeed. For Alfa by Marcello Gandini at Bertone. It's the car that gave the Lamborghini Countach its doors.

Another Alfa Romeo, the Tipo 33 Stradale, possibly the most badass European street car of the late 60's. Roll one of those and the guys in the Miuras, Daytonas and Mangustas will lose their shit.

Just a tiny part of the incredible place that is David Piper's backyard. If you could turn to the left you'd see parts of Ferrari P3's, P4's, 412P, 312P and PB's, 512S's and M's. Piper's place is the greatest scrap yard on Earth. In his garage he's got one of Niki Lauda's F1 312T's, complete and operational. He used to let people drive it up and down his road.
Amazing man, amazing place.

a lot of GTO's in that pic.
Not as many as might seem. You have to remember that the 330LMB wore the 250GTO nose. What appears to be a GTO body, sitting under the Daytona rear in the lean-to bay closest to camera, might be a GTO body, but could also be a few other 250GT cars which wore similar rear ends to the GTO.
In the next bay over you have a 250LM/275LM body buck sitting on a 250 Testa Rossa body.
Crazy stuff.

Production might be too strong a word. There were 16 or 17 W8's built for customers, one of them being the infamous car built for Andre Agassi, but the car was never built in the numbers envisioned.
When the Indonesian conglomerate Megatech made their successful hostile takeover of Vector Aeromotive, it had been with the idea of expanding W8 production. Vector founder Gerry Weigart was able to wrest away the design rights to the W8 in court, which led Megatech/Vector to move into production of the M12, the Lamborghini Diablo-powered version of Weigart's WX3. The resemblance is obvious...

Them BIG assed round headlights from decades ago, no matter how they tried to style them in, fenders/whatEVER they looked stupid, I don't give a damn, the cars need some serious updating from that crap.....
I think those 30" round bulbs are just STOOOOOPID looking, and on something that is supposed to be sleek and not a Peterbuilt.....
the poor cars are crying.....:dance::sadangel:

Honestly, that is about all the M12 is good for. Possibly the single most horribly built "production" car of all time. Build quality was so bad on those 14 cars that it has become legendary.
Today, a few of them have been fully sorted and operate, more or less, as viable cars. The rest languish, static displays in Middle Eastern and Asian collections...

I did buy one. I don't remember what year it was but it was before they stuck the big bumpers on them, Sonett II I believe. Mine was a light blue color. It was a fun little car when it was running. I bought it as a project car and never really drove it much. It had problems.

Always wanted one of those. Had a chance to cop one when I was 16 from an auto salvage yard for $1,100 (motor blown, body/chassis solid) but I balked.
I always wanted a Renault Fuego Turbo and Alpine for some reason, too. "Quirky, French sumbitches!" as Uncle Pervey would say (and shit).

Yvonne and I bought a new Fuego - the first year they were sold in the US (non Turbo version though)... 1983 or 84'ish ???
looked exactly like this one:

We got plenty of compliments on that car; it was silver with leather interior... and had a retractable tonneu (sp) cover -type- sunroof.
Hits:
* a lot of interior space to sit confortably in
* best leather seats in any vehicle I've ever owned. We drove that car daily for almost 4 years, there weren't any wear spots; still smelled new.
* rear hatch opened to huge storage area
* fantastic MPG (1.6L engine)
* a lot of positive compliments received.
Misses:
* poor brakes (I guess the French thought you'd never go fast in the car)
* low HP... may be the reason for the weak brakes :) (later fixed via Turbo offering).
* alternator was a POS; replaced it two different times... very expen$ive.
