Help! New C4 1991 Convertible Owner....

first corvette...my dream car....2nd day and noticing an oil leak on the garage floor and where I've been parking it....called back the prevous owner and they said it's always had a leak and not a problem.....seems to me anytime you leak oil that has to be a problem....seems to be leaking little more towards driver side from middle, about 6 inches in from the hinges on the drivers door...any suggestions? Seriousness? Okay to take to chevy garage or best to use corvette specialty shops? Thanks for the words of wisdom....

True, but they know what they're doing. The kid at the chevy dealer who was a kid, or not even born, when the C4 was new, often doesn't.

Rear china wall or thereabouts, I haven't 100% diagnosed the issue yet. The car smokes slightly from behind the distributor, one or two spots on the ground after parking, conditions worsen with harder driving. Oil pressure sensor is suspect with 12-15 psi showing at engine off and warm idle.

Transmission leaks a little bit too, but is also minor. Trans shifts great.

Get it up in the air and look for it. It's the only way to tell. And most of time a small leak is not a big deal except for us anal folks.
