I think we settled on the next car.

The Ford Edge SEL FWD with the following options -

201A
Trailer tow package
Vista roof
Thule 2 bike rack

She wants it in the ginger ale color.

It is FWD, says it tows 3500 lbs and gets 25 mpg. Should be able to tow my 2200 skiff.

Ford website prices it out at $36,694, what can I expect to pay for that?

Does Tony still work for a Ford dealer?

If so, the kid has already made him more stable...
That's got to be a record for him staying put at one job.

Yea, sorry I like the Ford better. It has more features, power, and gets better fuel economy.

Did you go to Edmunds.com? They show dealer cost and retail prices.

I did, I don't always trust the true value quote they show.

Edmunds doesn't include shipping and handling which with most companies varies on the location.

C'mon Phil....

It's on the internet, it has to be true.

I agree that the numbers can vary from the real numbers. But, it gives a reasonable idea of what the dealer is paying.

I thought the destination charge was pretty much a set fee charged for all 48 states?

It's $975 on every 2013 Vette whether you're in Dallas, NYC or Bowling Green

I generally don't care about Fords, but I'll admit the Edge is one of their standout vehicles, and they've become popular for good reason.

Nope, it varies from area to area. Here in my corner of NC it's 770.00.

Wrong SkiaTurd.Ford, GM, and Chrysler all charge a standardized freight fee.
its the same to ship a Ford to Florida or Alaska.
Maybe those companies from the Land of the Rising Sun work it differently :D

Hey Phil, I'm on a plane headed home from a Chrysler fleet meeting.
I can work up the invoice cost for you first thing in the morning when I get into the office.
At least you'll have the cost as ammunition to shop a local dealer.
If no dealer will deal, we can always drop-ship a unit to a local store direct from the factory.
That would need to be a factory order though.
