How about counties that don't sell alcohol on Sundays? We are surrounded by 4 counties here in Duval. These idiots used to have a dry county on Sundays. Guess where all those alcohol tax dollars from our county went on Sundays. They finally started allowing it about 10 years ago.

How about towns? Stupid shit. You can drive about 10miles and get it.

Have some real fun and move to the South. Here, each County, City, and Town has a say-so about days liquor sales are permitted and the hours of sale. The same for wine and beer. You can live in a County that is "wet" for beer, and "dry" for liquor...and vice versa. Any City in that County mave have different rules. And then there's serving liquor by the drink on Sunday to contend with.

First time I went to the Dragon I got caught completely unprepared. Had to go 3 days without a brewha.

It wasn't that long ago when the liquor stores in Ontario were closed Sundays, and you couldn't get a drink in a restaurant/bar unless you ordered something to eat!

This.

I hate the rules around here. No sales on Sunday, period (within a reasonable drive), unless you're a private club. Sales the rest of the week for retail are cut off at 7 PM for liquor and IIRC 12 AM for beer. Most places that have good beer and liquor close at 7 PM because it murders their sales to stay open just for beer sales.

Bars have to close at 2 AM each night except for Saturday night, when they close at midnight.

It's moronic at best.

7 pm cutoff for liquor? Dayum! We get all the way to 10pm. :leaving: "Local option" laws are just stupid. Here even driving through a dry County with beer or liquor (unopened) in the car makes you subject to arrest for unlawful possession. And it's a pretty serious offense. How the hell can you keep up with who's wet and who's dry in a State with 82 Counties and 100s of Cities?

Ours is up for vote.

It was passed up in Gwinnett - it's so odd going back there and being able to buy alcohol on Sundays now. I never thought it would pass.

Ours is up for vote.

Cobb county has gotta re-vote on this issue due to a glitch, but the city of Marrietta and Kennesaw have Sunday sales. Both are right down the street.

Just keep some private stock at your girlfriend's place. Problem solved!

Geez. Do I have to think of everything for you???

And, on a side note, perhaps you shouldn't drink while at the Blue Stool unless you plan to spend the night on the deck. You know....just for the safety of your bones!!! :D

State run liquor stores used to be closed on sunday. Had to drive to NJ to get your stuff.

Now about half of them are open on a sunday. Not that I drink much on a sunday but when the mood strikes for some beer or liquor and i need to get it its nice to stay in the state.

I've adapted to no liquor sales here on Sundays. On my mental checklist on the way home Friday is the liquor supply at home. If I'm unsure, I buy some. This habit comes from running out of gin on Sunday and having to drink rum and Mountain Dew. It leaves a lasting impression.

They just started allowing SUnday sales in the county here this year, but some of the smaller podunk towns still won't sell it.

Rules? Who needs stinking rules? :island14:

24 hours a day here (if you can wake em up at the store) or drive over to town to one of the all night stores.

365 days a year! :hurray:

But then only 364 1/2 days during election year (not allowed to sell Rhum the night before elections)

But I am still allowed to buy even then... since I don't vote...:D

I didn't know people over the age of 25 drink rum.
To us it was the drink that got us plastered when we were young.

We'd take a jug of juice an empty it. Throw in a 26'er of rum, add coke and carry it around in a cooler.
