in my vette. Haven't driven it in about a year. Been real busy. It started out fairly good, hesitating a bit. Flooded real bad at the gas station. Drove on open hiway about 8 miles to my buddies house to pick him up.
My wife had picked up his wife and they left before us.

Car kept flooding and backfiring thru carb. Not pretty. Got it running, stalled again, drove to a parts store. stalled in the entrance. bought seafoam. An hour later, in the parking lot I am taking the carb apart to clean it. Wife and friend drove up. I am sweating and worrying about my car.

Wife says, " I know this is not a good time to talk about this but I am. There is this dog at the festival (where the car show was at) and I want it".

Well no, it was not a good time to talk about it. She has wanted a dog for a good while. I just said, "No, this is not a good time to talk about it".

She said " I really want it". I said, if you want it go get it. Ends up I made it to the festival and had to go see the dog.

Told my wife is she wants it get it.

She was severely neglected and had mange so bad they could not tough her. They treated it. They said the dog was so timid that she would not go to anyone at first. She is a very happy, sweet and quiet little dog now. Our cat is still not real sure!

Did you get the '63 running ? The bad gas we have these days will really gum up the inside of a carb. Did you store with Sta-Bil or anything ?

I got it running real good but I think the float valve got stuck again. Barely made it home. Gonna look at it soon.

I have been real busy the last year and have not driven the car in about a year. all the gas evaporated. I put some seafoam in it. Hope that helps.

thanks for askin

Make sure the float doesn't have a hole in it and sink (or if it's one of those foam floats that it isn't saturated and sinks).

Actually, the flat itself looked ok but on closer inspection, in the parking lot, it appeared that the float valve as stik open. I sprayed with carb cleaner and it unstuck but it may have stuck again.

Smiley dog! She's cute :yesnod:

Have fun taking her for walks and don't let that beautiful car sit around either. They both need exercise :seasix:

I think so. The cat had bowed up but just mostly stares.

Oh my that happy face no wonder your wife couldn't resist. What did it take all of two seconds before Emmie Lou had you wrapped around her paw?

Fletcher and KitKat and TurboKittyLucy approve!
We adopted Fletcher last summer. The cats adjusted. Give them a few weeks.

I'll bet you have gasoline gunk in it.

I had upset the timing (moved distributor) and just guessed at where it was supposed to be, I advanced it almost to the max and it runs much better. I was worried there but I think once I set the timing, she will be running fine.

I hope you're right...but what engine doesn't run better when you advance the timing?
