the only way GM can do right - at the moment - is to ween itself free & clear of taxpayers monies.
Then I can cheer for them. :yesnod:
When L. Iacocca got gov't backed loans; Chrysler became free & clear of them within 3-4 years.

The Treasury, which initially held a 61 percent majority stake in GM, now only holds a 26.5 percent share.

Steve; getting your news from CNN/MSNBC ?
GM borrowed 61 billion initially; still owes about 30 billion. The latest figures show the US Govt still owning 35 - 40% of GM.
GM shares currently sit at around $27.00, well below the $51 per share price necessary for taxpayers to break even. Selling the US Govt shares right now would recoup about $15 billion, but leave taxpayers with only about half of the $30 billion they have yet to get back from the initial bailout of GM in 2009.
It's certainly not "free & clear"; not even close. :nonod:

Their "innovations" exhibit is kinda trumped by anything you can get an App for, to tell the truth.
