Droid Bionic is now free (on a two-year agreement) with Verizon Wireless
There comes a time in the life of a smartphone where out with the old and in with the new begins to apply. And in this case, what we usually see is a smartphone drop to a low price (if not free) and then shortly after, some new devices come available for sale. Well, it looks like the first part of this pattern has recently taken place — the Droid Bionic is now free with Verizon Wireless.
Well, the handset is free, however you will need to make a two-year commitment to get that price. The Droid Bionic was originally announced at CES in 2011 and then launched some nine months later. Needless to say, the handset is far from the newest on the block but regardless — for the price of free, it seems to still have some potential.
Just to offer a recap on the specs, the Droid Bionic brings features to include a 4.3 inch (960 x 540) qHD display, 16GB of internal storage, 1735 mAh battery, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. And lastly, a quick note on that 16GB of internal storage space. According to Verizon that breaks down as 8GB for general storage with an additional 3GB for application download and application data. Worry not though, because the Bionic also has an available microSD card slot with support for an additional 32GB.
