My father is doing some landscaping, didn't need these 6x6x12 treated timbers anymore, so his landscaper dropped 'em off last night, during a little impromptu fire with friends.
I'm gonna build a new backstop for target practice.....:seasix:
I have 14, 6' sections now, so I'm deciding how to do it.
Any suggestions ?
btw....The coppers are finally calling my references for my NYS CCW pistol permit, so it shouldn't be much longer.... I handed the app in, January 30th.

Use the beams to support a big ass pile of dirt.

Was going to say that also. I have my own private range, but right behind the target holder is a 700' mountain!:D

PS to the OP I also live in the people’s republic of NY It took me over 2 years and a lot of bullshit to get my CCWP back in 1972. Believe it or not things are much better now!

Use the beams to hold up a piece of cardboard.
That should do the trick.

There is a natural slope , prolly 30' up , that is, if I wanted to shoot towards the back, but I want the convenience of being near the barn.
This will basically be for pistols, and .22's. I have no long range weapons, and if I wanted to , I could just go up to my neighbor's house. He has a 300 yard range for that sort of thing.
