Poor little guy looks terrified. Yeah, I know, they're pests. They rob my garden every year.

She was scared. The trouble with them is they established a latrine in one of my garden beds. Their shit is downright dangerous to pets and humans. Truly a bio hazard.

Add this to the cats in the neighborhood (dogs eat their shit and then spray the result all over my carpet) and sprinkle in some squirrels and we got a dang varmint Jihad over here.

Gonna be lots of critters taking long, scenic rides in the country.

I never forget a damn groundhog I shot once, two slugs from ~200 yds, still scrambling for his hole, ran up to him and it took TWO more slugs from my .45 auto at damn near point blank range before he stopped scrambling.....

In the populated burb I used to live in they (animal control officers) hardily ever shot wild animals. They took them to a creek, tied a rope on the cage and threw in and waited a few minutes.

I would have preferred a slug to their head it is more humane.

Wow. That's just wrong. I was worried about opening the cage but she wanted nothing to do with me. She saw her opportunity and took off.

I did the relocation thing many times.

I don't think it ever get enforced, but where I live it is illegal to "relocate" wild animals. I guess they are worried about animals being introduced to a habitat where they don't belong. Animal control will provide traps here, and then they come get the animals. I don't know if they euthanize them or relocate them properly.

We called Animal Control and they said all they do is let them loose right in your yard. They don't relocate or do much of anything. They said call a pest control company. WTF?

Around here, Racoons are well established. Relocating them 10 miles out is a non-issue.

The problem with relocating is you have the opportunity to introduce a disease or parasites to new area. That's why it's illegal here in PA.
