View Full Version : I just got attacked by bees

Montehall

Pulled in my driveway, and calmly got out of my car, and a bee lands on my shirt. I brush it off, then I notice several more, then pain in my hand, then my forehead.
I take off running into the house,
I get in the house, slam the door shut, and notice two bees got into the house and are flying at the doors.
I get to the bathroom. There are 4 stingers in me, two in hand, one in my neck, and one in my forehead.
While I am pulling the stingers out, I hear a buzzing and one of the f'n bees lands in my ear and stings me again.
I go and find the last one and smash the ever-loving crap out of it.

The bees are swarming my car, and my phone is in the car.
good news is that I do not appear to be allergic to bees.

ummmm... no.

So I called two local beekeepers.
Neither are willing to kill them.
The first one said he'd remove them for free, until he found out that they were in a tree, and not outside the tree.... and they might be africanized

The second guy said he might be able to get them, but not until friday. In the meantime, he recommended I not park my car there or do anything that causes vibrations.

He did tell me that Mosquito repellent will help to keep them off, but I WILL get stung again, especially since there are bound to be some in my car at this point. He recommended I get an electric flyswatter. He did not think they were africanized.

F-you, Mother nature.

On a side note, my stomach is aching...

You may be ok. I was never allergic until I'd been stung several times. Became sensitized to it over time.

Think I may be overcoming the allergy. The last time I got stung I didn't even need to take an antihistimines. Although that was in my toe far from any vitals and where you're stung has a definate impact on how bad it gets and how quick you react.

There's only one way to find out :D

That's possible. Allergies are odd: They can suddenly develop, and they can suddenly disappear. A doctor once told me that all alllergies go away before you die...but most often replaced by asthma.

when I got to the house to show it was a giant wasp nest above the door. of course open the door disturbed the wasps, and 1 landed on me, so I did the manly thing and started smacking my self and scream like a girl

Mr. Vette....Good GOD what is the MATTER with today's population??

all you need DO is hit them with gasoline, start from a distance, wear a respirator, the smell will keep them from YOU, and borrow in on them, dump maybe a gallon on the top of thos hives, let it drip down, and if no top opening, just soak the bottom but good, then the side walls....that hive is DEAD as a doorknob....

there is simply NO insect killer better or quicker acting than gasoline...period....

I even had a armadillo problem digging under my house....
about a pint of gasoline into the tunnel, and then back fill it....no issue since.....

OBviously you need make it fire safe, as in turn off the electrickery....

You just happened to catch them when they were swarming; that's the only time honey bees are aggressive. If you don't mind them flying around (and doing an invaluable pollinating job) I'd leave them alone. They'll remain harmless for the rest of the year. Likely, they will move next year.
