Sad day for me, as he was my favorite Cub. I remember watching him dominate the Astros in the 20k game. Just happened to catch it live that day. Unlikely to see such a dominating display ever again. Class act, and will be missed.

I was a big Kerry Wood fan too. When he was in his prime, he was something to behold.

I remember when he was a rookie. Must be nice to retire at 34. :D

When your throwing arm is shot, that's pretty much that. He had Tommy Johns surgery at least once, maybe twice.

I was in college, and happened to catch the 20 strikeout game live. It was incredible. Doubtful to see anything so dominant again.

I was at a Cubs game at Wrigley in 2003 and wanted to buy an official Cubs jersey to wear to games. Was a tossup between Woods or Pryor, and I flipped a coin. It came up Pryor. Still have it. I wore it a few years ago to a game and somebody at one of the bars said "He doesn't even play for the Cubs anymore." No shit Sherlock. You want to buy me a new one? BTW, don't count on that Zambrano jersey you're wearing to work out so great for you.

I have a Prior jersey too. But it's the home jersey without his name on it. So now it's a Garza jersey:) He wears the 22 now... SWEET

"Over 14 years in the majors, mostly on the North Side, he compiled a 86-75 record."

Is that right? 14 years and he only won 86 games?

Played for a bad team, hurt a lot, converted to a reliever.

Met him once. He was on a rehab assignment with the West TN Diamond Jaxx. He was 'berry, berry' nice to me:)
