Another day, another appalling undercover investigation from the Humane Society of the United States: The animal advocacy group has released evidence — and video footage — of pig abuse at a factory farm.

Video shot in April at the Wyoming Premium Farms facility in Wheatland shows workers kicking living piglets like soccer balls; swinging sick piglets in circles by their hind legs; striking mother pigs with their fists; and repeatedly and forcefully kicking them as they resisted leaving their young.

Goddamn. I will be the first to say that I love eating bacon and other meats but that is disgusting. All those anti hunting green weenies should be forced to watch that and some of the other videos that show what goes on to get those nice clean packages into your supermarket.

There is nothing I could say that would be low enough to describe these conditions and workers. There is nothing I could do to them that would equal the amount pain and anguish these animals have endured under their watch. Makes me absoutkey sick to the stomach.

I have not watched the video but I actually worked at a slaughter house one summer when I was in in high school. I cleaned up where the sticker's work mostly. There were stunners, stickers, knockers, and other workers. The sounds that come from a slaughter house can be gut wrenching but you get used to it. The smell - you don't. It didn't stink like you think it would but you never forget the smell of blood. The slaughter house I worked at was old and small and not like the big factory's you see today. I mainly mopped up or shoveled blood into floor vats. Yes, they actually used the blood. I also got to keep all the blood I wanted. Why? It makes some of the best catfish bait ever. I would pour it out onto plywood in the sun and let it thicken. Then I would repeat the process three or four times until the blood was nearly a half inch thick and like silly putty. I then cut it up into 1" x 1" squares and baited trot lines with it. It dissolves kind of quick but catfish absolutely love it. I would also take a 55 gallon drum cut in half and fill it with blood and sawdust I would get from the local cabinet shop and let it sit in the sun in the heat. I would stir it every other day with a boat paddle until it thickened. Once maggots appeared on the surface, then it was ready. I would scoop into burlap bags and put the bags in five gallon buckets. Hook the boat up and head to the river for some good catfishing. Throw the bags with a roick tied to them in a circle around my boat and sit back with a buddy and a 12 pack and pull in 2, 3 , and 5 pound channels and blues all after noon.

My family has slaughter our own beef before and it's a chore. We have killed 200 chickens at a time and put them up in the freezer. No fun.

Just because the animals are being raised for food does not mean you're free to abuse them. There are likely some potential serial killers in that video.
